Donate

Donating is an extremely effective and simple way to support an animal shelter or organization, especially if that shelter is completely reliant on generous donors in order to support their animals and maintain the facility. Donations, no matter how big or small, help the shelter or organization to pay for vet bills, food, and necessary supplies, and to improve the space in which the animals live.

Volunteer

Volunteering is an incredible and easy way to give back to your community. Animal shelters are always in need of volunteers to assist with cleaning runs and kennels, refilling water and food bowls, walking and training dogs, and socializing cats and dogs. While volunteering at a shelter means that you will not be paid, it is extremely rewarding to donate your time and emerge into something so beneficial for so many animals who cannot otherwise care for themselves.

Foster

Fostering a pet involves providing temporary care and shelter for a homeless animal while they await adoption. Fostering is a great way to determine whether or not having a pet is right for you, while also providing a shelter animal with a warm and safe place to stay. In addition, fostering, in large quantities, reduces overcrowding in shelters, which in turn creates a less stressful environment for the animals still at the shelter.
